EMDA

Treatment for Peyronie’s disease

Peyronie’s disease is a disconcerting illness whose treatment is hardly successful. Surgical procedures have their drawbacks, the drugs are unpredictable and localized injections are very painful.
However, studies show that applying corticosteroids through iontophoresis/electroosmosis directly to the plaques obtains good results; It is also observed that injecting verapamil into the lesions is positive.
PHYSION has developed for EMDA a solution that combines dexamethasone with anti-collagenic verapamil, to be administered with the purpose of avoiding pain in the fibrotic plaques caused by this disease.
A study of 78 patients treated with EMDA shows that:
- Pain decreases in 90% of patients.
- That the size of the plate is reduced by 50%.
- That penile angulation was reduced in 30% of patients.
The EMDA system to treat Peyronie’s disease is made up of:
- Electric generator with simple programming.
- Transcutaneous bell.
- Dispersive electrode.
